Fellow Creatives

I have a great time photographing the beautiful businesses and projects of fellow creatives. From shoemaker to amateur ceramists, it’s always inspiring to see what the people around you create, and what their projects can mean to others. Please scroll down to get inspired yourself.

DE ZOOLISTE – Elsa Verreijen is a young independant shoemaker. Her designs are one of a kind and her use of natural materials is elegant and fun. CULTUUR/BOSCH – In honor of the launch of CultuurBosch – a platform for amateur arts – a group of photographers was commissioned to portray some of these amateurs, to exhibit their activities and makings. I got to join a ceramics class and was enthused by the all the handwork and use of natural materials. Thanks to ceramics artist & teacher Susanne Silvertant and her class.

ATELIER REQUISTA – In 2016 I spent five months in France working as a volunteer through the organisation Workaway. During this time, I spent a little over a week at Atelier du Réquista. Atelier du Réquista was founded by Monika Liné-Gölz and her husband in 1995, in an ancient 17th century farm building, nested in the Lot Valley in the Aveyron departement.

Without a doubt, this is one of the most wonderful places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The region is beautiful, the old farm absolutely fairytale like and Monika an inspiration on many levels. She creates her textile jewellery and clothing in her atelier, putting positive energy into every single playful piece she makes. Her accessories offer a pop of colour to every outfit, making them ideal for women who want to liven up and personalise their business attire and of course for women who embrace colour all around.

I got to photograph a collection of cuffs, necklaces, rings, brooches and scarves and Monika herself while she was working. All the while feeling inspired by her story, her home, her work energy and her enjoyment of simple daily pleasures.

Please visit her website to see more of her work and beautiful Atelier du Réquista by clicking here.
