BLUE MIND. In 2019 I traveled up and down the East Coast of Australia. In the three months that I visited many beautiful places, I found myself most relaxed and happy when I was near, in or on the water. By the end of my travels, I picked up a magazine that featured an article on the book Blue Mind, written by academic and marine biologist Wallace J. Nichols. It described exactly that which I had been experiencing: “the mildly meditative state characterized by calm, peacefulness, unity and a sense of general happiness and satisfaction with life in the moment”. This series is a personal reminder to keep connecting to water and elements associated with it, so as to keep calming and nurturing my mind and body.
